ARM Selects Zaiq Technologies to Accelerate North American SoC Design Activity

CAMBRIDGE, England and WOBURN, Mass., July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMHY)], the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor solutions, and Zaiq Technologies, Inc., the fastest growing design and verification solutions provider, today announced that Zaiq has been named as an ARM ATAP(TM) partner, expanding ARM's global network of ARM Approved Design Centers and adding a major design resource to the North American market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Zaiq will offer ARM silicon Partners and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) the resources, tools, training and experience required to implement quality ARM® core-based system-on-chip (SoC) designs. Zaiq's experience in the creation, integration and support of reusable intellectual property (IP) enables ARM Partners to reduce time-to- market and time-to-revenue delivery.

``The ARM ATAP program streamlines custom silicon design and implementation using embedded processor cores for our Partners and their customers,'' said David Lewis, ATAP program manager, ARM. ``Zaiq's comprehensive design methodology and ten design centers throughout North America will enable more ARM core-based designs to be undertaken than ever before.''

``Zaiq's results-driven approach will allow ARM core-based system designers to 'fast track' their development and lower product costs,'' said Jim Pena, vice president of marketing and strategic alliances, Zaiq. ``Our proven methodology for product development, IP encapsulation and system verification ensures our customers meet their critical time-to-production goals.''

About the ATAP Program

ATAP design partners must go through a strict qualification process to become an ARM Approved Design Center. This includes a design flow audit, training on implementing designs with ARM cores, tools, AMBA(TM) bus peripherals and development techniques. Each Design Center must demonstrate its own unique skills in specific technology domains, as well as market segment expertise. The ATAP technology access program also provides additional benefits such as geographic and time-zone locality and local language support. For more information on the ARM ATAP program, please email info@arm.com or visit the ARM Web site.
